Become a Flight Angel and help an island cat reach a forever home. If you're already flying from Hawaii to the mainland, you can make your trip lifesaving by accompanying a rescue cat in the cabin. Fly Hawaii Cat coordinates every detail with our rescue partners—you simply share your flight and help change a life.

Why Hawaii?

Many people visit Hawaii and see paradise. What they don't always see is the island's cat overpopulation crisis.

Because Hawaii is isolated, there simply aren't enough local adopters for the thousands of cats and kittens that need homes each year. Meanwhile, loving families across the mainland are ready to adopt.

What We Do

We match volunteer flights

We partner with individuals who have flights booked from Hawaii to the mainland. These compassionate travelers, known as Volunteer travelers (Flight Angels), safely accompany a cat in the cabin during their journey. A cat's travel is only arranged once both a suitable flight and volunteer are confirmed.

1

We coordinate paperwork and timing

Our team coordinates timing, airline requirements, paperwork, and handoffs before the travel day. Cats travel with medical clearance and follow the same safety guidelines on every flight.

Volunteers receive clear instructions so they know what to expect.

2

Cats arrive to adopters and partners

Every cat travels with a plan. On arrival, cats are received by a partner rescue, rescue cat café, or a pre approved adopter working through a rescue.

Cats are never sent without confirmed placement and follow up support.

Journey to New Homes

Who we help

✔︎ Rescues
Local rescue groups across Hawaii work tirelessly to save cats and kittens, providing medical care and preparing them for adoption. We connect these organizations with travelers who can assist with safe transport to loving homes.

✔︎ Shelters
Animal shelters caring for cats awaiting adoption benefit from our coordinated transport flights, providing them with an additional pathway to connect cats with loving homes.

✔︎ Adopters
People across the mainland United States are eager to provide rescued Hawaiian cats with safe, loving, forever homes. We facilitate this journey by connecting compassionate travelers with needed transports.

✔︎ Cats
At the heart of everything we do are the cats. From tiny kittens to older cats in need of a second chance, our goal is to help them travel safely from Hawaii to the homes and families waiting to love them. 🐾✈️
