After 18 long months at the shelter, sweet senior girl Elsie is finally in her forever home, just in time for Thanksgiving!

Elsie was originally surrendered to the Maui Humane Society with her brother, but she quickly became the longest-staying resident. Despite her affectionate nature, she struggled to find a home. That changed when she was transferred to Cat Cafe Maui, where her gentle spirit captured the hearts of visitors. In just two weeks, a lovely couple from Florida fell head over heels for her, hoping to welcome her into their family.
However, just as they were ready to bring this sweet girl home, airline restrictions posed an unexpected challenge. They simply couldn’t fly her back to Orlando. But the story doesn’t end there—the magic of community began to unfold!
Determined to unite Elsie with her new family, we turned to our network of compassionate volunteers and social media for help. Our community rallied with an outpouring of support, showcasing the unbreakable bonds formed between animal lovers. Then, with a stroke of luck, we found a fabulous flight attendant who volunteered to transport Elsie from Seattle to Orlando!
But before Elsie could catch that flight, she needed to get to Seattle. This is where our amazing volunteers stepped up. Special shoutouts to Donya Izbicki and Sarah Haynes from Kitty Charm Farm—these incredible humans made it happen! They rallied their resources, organized an urgent transport for Elsie, and ensured she reached the airport on time. The love and dedication poured into this mission truly embodied the essence of teamwork.
As Elsie’s journey progressed, we encountered yet another hurdle—travel funds were low. But once again, our community came through! Our secret kitty angel stepped in to cover all the necessary travel and adoption costs, proving that together, we can make great things happen.
With every effort combined, Elsie’s ride to Seattle was seamless, and she finally boarded her flight to Florida. After a whirlwind of community support and coordination, she arrived home just in time for the holidays. Surrounded by love, Elsie is now living the sweet life she has always dreamed of with her new family.
